Latest Trends In Home Security 2019

Technology has evolved tremendously in every sector, and home security as an industry has changed immensely too. When it comes to our homes, we want nothing but the best… and when it comes to home security, we have some really tech-savvy solutions available in the market!

You have it all… right from wireless devices available to check on your house from afar, to virtual assistants who will perform mundane tasks such as shutting the garage door, and camera systems with a 360-degree vision, keeping your home safe and secure at all times. Let's explore the various trends that have raised the bar of home security and taken it to the next level.

Exploring The Latest Trends In Home Security!

 1. 360-Degree Vision:

The 360-degree vision camera systems installed in apartment complexes, send video footage to electronic encoders at security monitoring centers — either within the buildings or off-site locations run by a security firm.

This footage is then broken down into data and alerts are sent, if something is found unusual.

For instance, all lights will be turned on at night, if a motion detector is triggered; or if an unattended package is found, it will immediately send an alert to the building staff to look into

2. Intercoms:

The regular intercoms have also seen a smart upgrade. The new technology transforms your cell phone into your own personal intercom to allow access to outsiders. These systems require new hardware at the entrance of the house.

Security firm Doorport is testing a new product wherein by simply downloading an app on your cell phone, access codes can be created and sent to the guests for temporary access to the building.

There will also be a possibility to automatically unlock the door if you are carrying groceries and your phone’s in the back pocket!

3. Sensors:

Often, threats to home security harbor on the inside. There are sensors available that detect things like water leaks, or whether a window has been opened.

There are appliances such as stove and gun monitors, which are connected to the same monitoring system as the video cameras and intrusion sensors.

If the stove is left on for too long or a gun is moved from a locked location, a notification is sent to your cell-phone.

4. Artificial Intelligence:

There are cameras with artificial intelligence or facial recognition capabilities, which may cost a lot but are managed professionally by security firms. If not looking for an expensive affair, one can also upgrade to a fully integrated system that allows you to use your cell phone to monitor video footage of your house, control the lights, thermostat and garage door.

Sophisticated robots doing rounds to secure the area is no longer a thing of the past. ‘Rosie’ is a security robot in a housing complex in Corona, which patrols the entire complex and is super alert because of its cameras facing in four directions. Such smart security solutions have made home security a cakewalk.
